Year-end is a good time to consider a plotter upgrade

If you are fortunate enough to have kept your doors open until now, I’m certain there are a number of obsolete items in your shop and office that are now killing your efficiency. Your wide format plotter or scanner is one of them if it is over 5 years old.

Business has improved, it’s time to invest in something that saves you time.

Section 179 of the IRS Code was enacted to help small businesses take a depreciation deduction for capital expenditures in one year, rather than depreciating them over a longer period of time. By taking the full deduction for the cost of the asset immediately, rather than being required to spread out the deduction over the asset’s useful life, businesses can realize a substantial tax savings.

As Section 179 presently stands, businesses can deduct up to $25,000 of the cost of qualifying new and used business equipment placed in service in 2015.

If you have been thinking about upgrading or adding equipment, now is the time. Prices tend to increase Jan 1.
